I’m somewhere between a beginner and expert with PowerPoint. Is there a way to customize this presentation so that it has a jeopardy, double jeopardy and final jeopardy round? Any suggestion appreciated.
Hi JS!
It definitely would be possible, though it would take some work to get the Double Jeopardy setup. To give a brief overview, rather than having it navigate to the Final Challenge question at the end of the category round, you would need to have it navigate to a Double Jeopardy screen to start a second round. Basically, you’d copy/paste the main category screen and all of the answer/question slides and then have to go in and fix all of the navigations so they’re pointing to the right locations for that Double Jeopardy. Then, you’d have it navigate to the Final Challenge screen after that second round was complete.
It’s the sort of thing that would take some work and you probably have to dig into the macros to make sure everything works properly. But if you’re feeling up to the expert side of your experience with PowerPoint, it’s definitely doable!
Thank you Brother Thomas for your help! It will take me some time but I will plug away at this.
Hi there. I am trying to figure out how to remove the clapping and incorrect buzzer sounds from the game. I believe its build into the VB scripting… but I’m unsure where to find it or how to disable them without breaking the game. Thanks.
Hello David! Great question and actually the process for changing the sound or removing the sound all together is quite simple and it doesn’t require you to go into the code of the game. So what you will need to do is go to the Answer Slide(s) in which you want to remove the sound, and Right Click on the “Correct” and “Incorrect” buttons and then click on Hyperlink. Here you can see a Play Sound box that you can uncheck or simply change the sound file with another one of your choice! The only tedious thing about this is that you need to do that with all of the Answer Slides. Hope this helps!
Thanks Taylor! That is super simple. Thank you for a quick response!
I was looking to do 2 rounds of the game. Is it possible to add a second game board that continues the points from the first round, so that you can have 50 total questions?
Hey Colleen! Great question, I am sure that it is possible to do it. However I am not proficient in VBA (scripting) so the time it would take to do it would not be worth the time for me. However, as a work around you can copy the game and insert it into the same project and then insert a slide in between the two iterations of the game that says “Round 2” in some fancy lettering. You would have to remember the scores from round 1 and round 2 and then add them together. It may not be as smooth as desired, but it prevents you from having to dive into the macros of the game.
Do you have a recommended USB button to interface with the game?
If you want the newest buzzer that would work with this game it is located here: Buzzer
