The Common Craft Library has been discontinued. Please check out our other eLearning Template Libraries for awesome templates, video themes, and stock graphics.

The Common Craft library is known for its playful and easy-to-understand explainer videos, each made with the uniquely-illustrated style found in the over 2000 Common Craft cutouts. We have recently added three new videos to our library.

An algorithm is defined as a process or set of rules to be followed in calculations or other problem-solving operations. This particular video explains how computers (and your local barista) use algorithms to recognize who you are, what you do, and what you like to help give you a more personalized experience.

Bias Detection

We live in a world where biased opinions often influence facts. While we’re not here to tell you which issue has what facts, opinions, or biases, this video does a good job of trying to help you make that determination on your own. Bias detection is a skill that is a must-have for just about anyone trying to navigate the information superhighway of the Internet.

Privacy Online

Online privacy is not a default, and as the video states, this isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Our information is tracked and often used to provide us with better services as we use the Internet. Still, it’s good to understand how that information is getting used and how you might be able to control that information being shared.

These three videos—along with over 70 others—can be found as a part of our Common Craft library subscription, starting at just $199/year! What kinds of explainer videos would you like to see in the future? Let us know in the comments below!
