Adobe Captivate

Did you know each major eLearning authoring tool has a thriving community of eLearning developers constantly asking and answering questions about your burning development issues? Even if there is a small chance you are the only one on the entire planet that has a specific development issue, why aren’t you using asking the community? Chances are the community will have an answer for you. Asking the community can also make it helpful for the next person that comes along with the same problem.

In this post, you’ll learn how to solve your development issues using the Adobe Captivate Community.

Using Adobe Captivate Community Search

#1 Create an Adobe Account


Before you start using the Adobe Community, I suggest you create an Adobe account profile for the community. This makes it easier when you ask questions in the community, and you can receive answers as notifications in your inbox.

#2 Search the Community for an Answer


This is by far one of my favorite tips. Once you are in the Adobe Captivate Community, you can search tons of questions being answered that Google may not have offered you. All you need to do is ask a question, and it will reveal an auto-populated list of similar questions asked by the community. If you don’t see your answer, notice there is a “search all results in Adobe Captivate” option. When you click on this option, you’ll find tons search options at your fingertips.

Note: Searching for your solution with Google is also very efficient. 

#3 Ask the Community a Question


Once you are a member of the Adobe Captivate Community, typing a question is super easy. Just type in your question and push the “Ask Now” button. Now you just wait for the community to respond. I’ve got most of my answers within a few hours however, it may take as long as 24 hours to get a response.



Note: Whenever you have a question that you would like answered, it’s critical that you post that question in a structured and detailed way so someone can follow your issue. Describe as accurately as possible what you did, what steps you took, what happened at what moment and what you did to try to resolve it. Including a screenshot may be very helpful as well. When you follow this process, the community can help answer your question as quickly as possible.

#4 Use the Customized Search Options


When you’re in the Adobe Captivate Community modified search, you can find tons of search options. If you are trying solve a development issue, I recommend clicking the radio button for “Resolved” content. By doing this, you will be able to ensure all the queries will have an answer. Otherwise, when you open a discussion, you will see at the top, some with answers and some without answers.
