Articulate Storyline TemplatesOne of the coolest things about being a member of the eLearning Brothers family is we have an ever-growing Template Library with free updates. This post is going to cover a little bit more about the updates to our Articulate Storyline Templates. Since Articulate released their Storyline 2 update, we’ve been working hard to make our current templates even better. And, we found we needed to update and improve the user’s experience with our Storyline Templates. After figuring out some of the issues and differences between Storyline 1 and Storyline 2, we made these updates:

  • Updated the order of the triggers in both Storyline versions
  • Updated grouped objects with triggers applied to them
  • Playing “click” sounds need to be placed as the last trigger

Basically, what we found out is that with optimizing for both applications we got creative and came up with better ways for the user to interact with our Storyline templates.

What Products Were Updated?

  • Storyline Game Templates
  • Storyline Skins
  • Awesomeness everywhere

By updating those two products, we updated over 40 different eLearning game templates and skins (and of course, we updated awesomeness everywhere else). An exciting part of this update was the fact we were mainly waiting for the release of Storyline 2 SDK. Now that it has been released, we made some special updates on how we will use our Storyline 2 skins! Finally!

Why Were the Articulate Storyline Templates Updated?

Some of the objects in the games weren’t showing when they should and sometimes the wrong object would show altogether. We found that the big problem when updating from Storyline 1 to Storyline 2, was the chronology of which trigger goes first. For instance, if you wanted to first add to a variable and then have a different trigger check that variable then show something according to what that variable was, it wouldn’t work the same in both applications. The nice thing is you don’t have to worry, now all our templates work in both applications!

What does This Mean for Your Storyline Development?

This means whether you use Storyline 1 or Storyline 2 you can use all of our game templates and skins in either program. Another thing to know as a developer is now you have better control over each question type:

  • Multiple choice
  • Multiple response
  • True and False
