Andrew Scivally, eLearning Brothers co-founder and president, took the DevLearn eLearning Rockstars Learning Stage for the last stage presentation of the expo. He shared a little bit about the history of eLearning Brothers. At our core, we’re always asking ourselves “How can we help other eLearning developers become eLearning Rockstars?” For us, the answer lies in always providing the source files. But we’re not content to rest on our laurels. So Andrew gave a rundown of all the enhancements and additions we’ve made to our libraries over the past year or so.
You can watch the video below to hear more about each thing in details, but here are the highlights:
We launched a new icon library last year. The most exciting thing about our icons—other than the sheer number available—is that they’re all available as .PNG and .SWF files. You can open them in Illustrator or even PowerPoint and edit all the colors, the shape, etc.
Icons are available in all sorts of different styles to suit your needs.
Our cutout character library has grown enormously over the past year—and not because the characters got fat! We’ve increased our international characters and illustrated options too. It was rough, traveling to exciting international locations and holding photo shoots to increase those international characters, but we did it for you. True to our eLearning Brothers mission, the illustrated characters can be downloaded as Illustrator files, allowing you to change anything about them!
New to our template library, we’ve started releasing templates as style families. These are matching sets of 32 files encompassing layouts, interactions, timelines, quizzes, and more. Each set has a cohesive design and branding. These are available for Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Trivantis Lectora, and Microsoft PowerPoint.
Looking to the future, we are working on even more styles, as well as adding more templates to the existing style families we have on the site now.
We know that we serve users with varying degrees of development experience. In order to serve everyone better, we’ve been working on improving our support articles and videos. For example, we added a how-to support video for each of those 32 templates we mentioned in the Template Styles section. Even if you’re not an eLearning Brothers member, you can watch these videos and learn how to create eLearning awesomeness! (But really, you should become a member.)
It’s pretty clear that xAPI is the wave of the future. To that end, all of our new Template Styles come with built-in xAPI statements. We’ve also partnered with Veracity LRS to offer our users a special deal.
We asked ourselves what the next evolution of templates was and decided “Well, it’s gotta be a whole course!” So we created Customizable Courseware, a new take on off-the-shelf courseware. But in true eLearning Brothers fashion, you get all the source files for Adobe Captivate, Articulate Storyline, Trivantis Lectora, and Microsoft PowerPoint. We reached out to subject matter experts in sales, soft skills, and safety to create these courses. In addition to eLearning courses, each Customizable Courseware subject includes the files for instructor-led training so you can create classroom or blended training programs too.
TREK Learning Experience Manager
Our newest offering is a very exciting one. If your training program is failing to capture on-the-job learning or informal training, listen up. TREK Learning Experience Manager is a genius way to pull together all the pieces of experiential, formal, and informal learning. You can create custom learning paths inside TREK and we are in the process of hosting all our Customizable Courseware on TREK!
After sharing all these new products with the audience, the only thing left for Andrew to do was start to give away FREE STUFF! Sadly, the conference is over, so you can’t win any of those prizes, but we do have 15 more iPads that are up for grabs! Enter to win a fully-loaded eLearning iPad by scheduling a demo to learn how we can help you create amazing training.
