eLearning Rockstars Stage - Flip Learning Like a Rockstar! Blog Header

eLearning Brothers Senior Product Manager Chris Willis took the stage to share a creative and flexible Flipped Classroom learning approach.

In Flip Learning Like a Rockstar, Chris covered:

  • Flipped Classroom methodologies & design strategies
  • Easy, low cost tips to increase engagement and impact
  • How you can use Customizable Courseware in a flipped classroom approach

First, Chris explained the concept of flipped classrooms/blended learning for those who haven’t dabbled in combining online, self-directed learning with instructor-led training.

Graphic that reads "A flipped classroom is a blended learning approach consisting of self-directed elearning plus instructor-led training. Students complete self-pace 'homework' prior to facilitated practice or projects."

She divulged some different flipped learning activities that organizations could easily implement, including:

  • Webinar or virtual classroom
  • eLearning scenario simulation
  • Video
  • Game or activity
  • Blogging or journaling
  • Workbook or worksheet
  • Podcast
  • Supplement reading (ie, a white paper or case study)

During this session, Chris also offered some guidance on creating learning paths and lesson models that work well for blended learning, such as the PAF Lesson Model.

The PAF Lesson Model stands for:

  1. Present Lesson
  2. Apply Learning
  3. Offer Feedback

Chris also shared some case study examples of flipped learning success stories and gave a brief introduction to eLearning Brothers Customizable Courseware, which provides source files for both online and classroom learning modules. Watch the video below to hear those stories and more tips from Chris Willis.
