The Night Before an eLearning Brothers Christmas Deadline

eLearning Brothers Christmas

By Bruce Adams and Laura Doerr

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through eLB’s house,
Not an Instructional Designer was stirring, not even a computer mouse;
The storyboards were hung by the computers with care,
In hopes that the Developers soon would be there;

The dedicated staff were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of interactions and drag and drops danced in their heads;
And Andrew in his ‘kerchief, and Shawn in his Snuggie,
Just asked their Momma for their evening huggie,

When out in the office there arose such a clatter,
The Bros sprang from their chairs to see what was the matter.
Away to the window Shawn flew like a flash,
Andrew threw open the door and knocked over the trash.

The dark computer monitors began to cast such a glow,
It gave an eerie appearance to some faces, don’t you know.
When, what to the Bros wondering eyes should appear,
But a Whirlwind of developers bringing eLearning cheer.

Next came their task master, with a lively facade,
I knew in a moment it must be St. Todd!
More rapid than Rich and Doug following a lead they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name!

‘Now DAN! Now BRYCE! Now ADAM and RANDY!
On NATE! On DANNY! On ROBIN and ANDY!
To your PC! To your Mac! To your cubes you must go!
Now develop away! Develop away! There’s no time to be slow!

They needed ideas, they needed to access help quick;
They needed templates, interactions, photos from which to pick.
To the eLB library they went as they drank their eggnog,
All Parker could do was just sit there and blog!
And then, in a twinkling, downloads they made,
This pressing deadline they were no longer afraid.
But as I drew in my hand, and was turning around,
Into the office Rosie came with a bound.

She was dressed all in fur, from her head to her foot,
And her clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
Ready to QA and find every course error,
Developers hearts were filled with fear…no actually terror!

Her eyes — how they twinkled! Her dimples how merry!
Her cheeks were like roses, her nose like a cherry!
Ready she was to start the Quality Assurance phase,
Developers watched in awe, their eyes all a glazed;

She spoke not a word, but went straight the courses,
Project Managers arrived, they will all join forces!
They turned to us to tell us the result of their critique,
And giving us nod, they began to speak;

These courses are amazing, what great learning they teach,
We cannot even count how many Learners they will reach.
The office shouted with a cheer, which echoed into the night,
“AWESOME eLEARNING TO ALL, AND TO ALL a GOOD-NIGHT!”

Thanks from everyone here at eLearning Brothers!
