In reference to an eLearning course, I was recently asked how I would make text and an image more exciting on a page. They showed me a sample of what they were talking about…a white background, black text on one side, and an image on the other side. 

 

What is wrong with this image?
  1. Design is very flat
  2. Creates little visual interest
What would I do different?
  1. Create some depth
  2. Add a gradient background
  3. Compartmentalize design elements
  4. Add subtle drop-shadows
  5. Format text using headings and bullets
